Chitkul Kalpa Road Trip
There are several beautiful valleys in Himachal Pradesh such as Kullu Valley, Kangra Valley, Chamba Valley, Kinnaur Valley, etc. Out of all, Kinnaur is one of those valleys which remained untouched and is home to many picturesque places. Few of them are Kalpa, Sangla, Chitkul, etc. Kinnaur Valley is all about deep gorges, snowcapped mountain peaks, a blend of Indo-Tibetan culture, apple orchards, etc. Another amazing fact about Kinnaur Valley is that the region has the cleanest air in India. In this trip, one can cover almost all the major destinations in the Kinnaur region.
Kalpa is also known as Winter Abode of Lord Shiva and is famous for heavenly views of Kinnaur Kailash ranges and Roghi suicide point. Chitkul is the last village on the Indo Tibet border and is popular for breathtaking views of Baspa Valley. The road to Kinnaur Valley is exciting as it passes through natural mountain caves and its a part of Hindustan Tibet highway, which makes the road trip quite interesting.
Day 1 : Departure from Delhi
Day 2 : Reach Shimla and Drive to Narkanda
Day 3 : Narkanda to Chitkul
Day 4 : Chitkul to Kalpa
Day 5 : Kalpa to Shimla and Depart for Delhi

I travelled with Aquilla Hikes to Chitkul via Narkanda with my family(wife and sister in law) on 4th Oct 2019 evening and returned back on 9th October morning 5AM. The entire travel journey was covered in Tempo Traveller which we boarded from outside Vishwa Vidyalaya Metro Station Delhi. So be prepared for a little discomfort as the journey can be tiresome in Tempo Traveller, however the itinerary was very well planned by Aakash and he made sure that proper halts were planned.
The halts were planned in Delhi --> Narkanda --> Chitkul --> Rampur --> Delhi. The stay hotels were decent and food served was nice. During the course of journey we covered lake, suicide point, apple gardens, overnight stay in tent and campfire, trek to waterfall, visit to fort in Sangla. Aquilla Hikes staff was very friendly and took great care of my family. Infact we felt like family while traveling with them. So you can definitely plan a trip along with your family with Aquilla Hikes.
One last thing, amazing experiences like staying in tent near river in Chitkul was breathtaking which one must experience.
